Yay! Here we are in Canada 🙂 Lots of fun, lots of green! I have with me two of my wonderful buddies, Raul (the nice old man) and Pooh 🙂 the super cutie that Amy just game me for my Birthday!!! 🙂
So for my first day in Canada, we went for a quick stroll through Stanley Park (everyone else already did a slow stroll) on our way to the Vancouver Aquarium!!
This was one of the best aquariums I’ve ever seen! They had this really cool… or two really cool shows in 4D. Apparently they have the only 4D theater on the west side of Canada. Amazingly enough, the majority of the people there had never seen a 4D show before. I guess we really are privileged to have Universal Studios and Disneyland so close by! The two shows we saw were Spongebob (quite funny and well done actually, I was very impressed) and another one done by Planet Earth that talked a little about several sea animals and how very amazing they are. It was a little hard to hear what they were saying in the second show because everyone around us was so amazed by all the 4D effects 🙂 It actually made the show more interesting.
Besides the really cool shows, they had a really good selection of sea animals 😀
My favorite part was where they had screens showing fish or other animals eating/ capturing their prey and they let you decide, with a little wheel, how fast the movie would show and if it would be showing forward motion or backward motion. Yaaa… I’m still a little kid. I could spend half an hour with my brother and sister just playing a clip backwards, forwards, super fast, super slow, and all the combinations of the above.
They also had sea otters! Sea urchin petting! Dolphins! Baluuuuuga whales! Sharks! an amazing display of amazon birds, bugs, and enormous fish!
They also had really funny fish and frogs 😀 Like this one with funny eye brows or ones that have the potential of becoming circles or ones that glow in the dark! Siiigh, I do so enjoy aquariums.
After a fun day at the aquarium, we went to church 🙂 its quite a lovely church, St. John’s Vancouver Anglican Church. The message was on Chasing Pleasure & Being Chased.
I enjoyed their church very much 🙂 We came on a special day that they were having an outdoor service. They sang some very good worship songs and I liked how the announcements were done very much like ours, very… well in such a way that you could tell everyone there were friends and that they all felt comfortable with each other.
The application part of the sermon (which I liked very much… the sermon I mean… well the application too, but yes) which talked about ecclesiastics and the joy that we have in life because of Christ. He talked about how we as Christians should be able to enjoy everything in life more than others because of our knowledge of Christ. The pleasures that we have here on earth are like appetizers preparing us for the feast which is being with Christ Jesus our Lord! He then went on to talk about the importance of both feasting and fasting. Feasting to enjoy God and his favor and remind us of what we look forward to even more more more of in heaven with him. Fasting to remember our contentment in Christ and not be chained down by the earthly pleasures… to remember that they aren’t all that we’re living for and instead to focus on God 🙂
Being in Canada is definitely a time of feasting for me 🙂 I’m glad God gave me that message at the beginning of the trip. It reminds me that as I see all the splendor and majesty of his creation here, it should be reminding me of not only his power, but also of the joy I have to look forward to when I’m finally with Him! I definitely want to live a life with a heavenly perspective. How marvelous, how wonderful, and my song shall ever be!
